Making a Purchase
Making a purchase is easy. Just browse our Catalogue, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Checkout" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Visa Debit (Delta) and Switch. All card transactions are processed by Worldpay. Worldpay's system means that we do not get to see your card details and that the security of your card details is guaranteed. If you prefer, you can place your order online, then call us with your card details.
We also accept payment by PayPal.
Guaranteed Next Day Delivery Services
In partnership with our couriers, we offer, among other services, a guaranteed next working day delivery service. This service is available for orders received on a working day before 3:00pm as defined by the date and time of the DVD Shop Online web server. When an order is received before this time, and the user has selected a guaranteed next day service, and all items on the order are in stock, we will guarantee that delivery of the goods will happen on the next working day. Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays do not count as working days.
If any of the products on your order are not in stock, we will inform you promptly. For orders received before 3:00pm on a working day, we will endeavour to inform you before 5:30pm on the same day. In all other cases we will inform you before 5:30pm on the next working day.
Money Back Guarantee on Next Day Deliveries
In a situation where an order is not delivered in the specified time, we will refund the full cost of carriage, with the following exceptions -
Carriage will not be refunded in cases where:
- The courier attempted delivery but was unable to deliver due to consignee absence (see 'Carded Deliveries' below for more information). - Incorrect delivery address details provided by the Customer - Adverse weather conditions - Unforseen disasters affecting road access to either DVD Shop Online or the delivery location
When Will My Delivery Arrive? *
This depends on which delivery service you selected at checkout, and when you placed your order. Apart from Royal Mail, none of the services will deliver at a weekend. Royal Mail postal delivery is only available on low weight orders. We also offer services from City Link and Parcelforce. Generally, if you place your order before 3pm on a working day, delivery times will be as follows:
City Link Guaranteed Next Working Day - the next working day Parcelforce one/two day service - the next working day or the working day after that Parcelforce two/three day service - the working day after the next working day, or the working day after that Royal Mail 1st Class - between two and three days Royal mail 2nd Class - between three and five days
If we receive your order after 3pm on a Friday, or over the weekend, it will be shipped out the following Monday, unless that Monday is a Bank Holiday, in which case it will be shipped out on the Tuesday following the Bank Holiday.
If there is chance that you will be out, you can ask us to deliver the goods to your place of work, or to a neighbour's house.
* Please note that at certain times of the year, such as Christmas or Easter, some services may not be available and/or the delivery schedule and examples detailed above may not be applicable. Whenever this occurs we will publish the amended schedule on this page and on the Shipping Information page.
Carded Deliveries
When you place an order and select a service that requires a signature upon delivery, it is your responsibility to ensure there will be a responsible person available at the delivery address given to receive the package and sign for the goods.
If there is nobody available at the specified delivery address when the courier attempts to deliver the package, they will leave a card at the address letting the recipient know they have attempted to deliver the package and containing further instructions. When a delivery has been attempted and carded in this manner, it does NOT count as a failed delivery.
If your guaranteed delivery does not arrive within the specified time we will refund the full cost of any carriage charges. Please note, however, that this refund will not apply in the case of 'carded' deliveries.
If an order is returned to us by the courier undelivered, after the courier has attempted to delivery it within the time specified, and subsequently carded it as there was no responsible person available to accept the package, you will be refunded the value of goods purchased, however, the carriage charges will not be refunded.
Refused Deliveries
If a shipment is returned to DVD Shop Online after our couriers have attempted to deliver the goods and the consigment has been refused or not accepted by any person at the delivery address, a further charge for redelivery will be payable. If you do not wish to pay an additional charge the order will be cancelled and you will be refunded for the full cost of the goods on the order. Carraige charges will not be refunded cases such as this.
Back Orders
If the goods that you order are not in stock, we will notifiy you before close of business the same day, unless your order is received after close of business, in which case we will notifiy you the following day. In such cases, you will be entitled to cancel the order in full, cancel the out of stock item and receive the rest of the order, wait until the stock comes in or consider an alternative product.
Credit Card Security
We do not get to see your Credit or Debit Card details. They do not come to our server. All card transactions are processed by Worldpay, part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group. Worldpay guarantee the security of your card details. Credit and Debit card details are used only for processing your order, and are not stored anywhere once the transaction is complete
Guarantee
We know you'll love our selection of blank discs. But if you don't, you can return any un-burnt media for exchange. We cannot replace discs that have been recorded. All that we ask is that you pay for the delivery cost. All goods sold at DVD Shop Online have a return to base warranty. This means that you have to send the goods back to us. Unless otherwise stated, all goods carry a 12 month warranty. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Privacy
DVD Shop Online do not disclose buyers' information to third parties. Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option. Data collected by this site is used to:
a. Take and fulfil customer orders b. Administer and enhance the site and service, including e-marketing activities* d. Only disclose information to third-parties for goods delivery purposes
* We will not subscribe you to our mailing list if you tick the box that asks us not to. If you do subscribe to our mailing list, you may unsubscribe at any time.
Unwanted Goods - Cooling off Period **
All contracts between DVD Shop Online and the consumer are governed by the Distance Selling Regulations. These regulations are in place to offer protection to consumers who purchase goods on the internet and other mail order type transactions.
Within these regulations, the consumer has the right to a 'cooling off period' of 7 working days beginning on the day after the day that delivery of the goods takes place. The cooling off period is there to allow consumers to change their mind after they have received and seen the goods. Please note, the cooling off period will not apply in cases where the goods have been used or are not in as new condition (ie, are not in exactly the same condition as they were when received).
If you change your mind about a purchase you have made within the cooling off period, you are entitled to return any unused goods to DVD Shop Online for a full refund of any monies paid.

One you have returned the goods and they have been inspected to ensure they are in as new condition, we will refund your money in not more than 30 days. When you are returning goods, make sure they are packaged well, and are in the condition they were in when you received them.
In all cases, the customer is responsible for the cost of returning the goods to DVD Shop Online, and for the safe keeping of the goods during transportation back to DVD Shop Online Ltd. For this reason, when returning goods you are strongly advised to use an insured courier service that requires signature upon delivery, as DVD Shop Online Ltd cannot be held responsible for damage to goods in transit back to ourselves, or for packages that are lost in transit.
Returns
If after 7 working days and within 30 days of the date of delivery, you're not entirely happy with your purchase, you can return it for exchange or refund. This excludes delivery charges. Please send an email to returns@dvdshoponline.co.uk, stating the product you wish to return, the date you bought it and, if you would like to exchange, your preferred replacement product. We can advise you on a suitable replacement, if you wish. Once we have all of your details on our system, you will be issued with a returns number. This helps us to deal with your return more quickly, as we know what it is and who sent it, when it arrives at our warehouse.
Please mark the outside of your packing box with the return number, but DO NOT write on the actual product itself. Please package the products well, as we cannot be held responsible for damage caused by mis-handling. Once we have your goods, we will either ship you the replacement, or refund your card.
If the goods that you return have been opened and used, we will make a partial refund. If the goods are sealed and unused, we will refund in full.
This does not affect your statutory rights.

Faulty Goods
If you return goods to us as faulty, we will test them. If they are found to be faulty, we will refund you in full. If you return discs to us, we will test three discs from the pack, in three different drives. If we find them to be without fault, we will make a partial refund to you. This amount will reflect how much we can sell the opened pack of discs for. If you prefer, we can return the media to you, but you must pay for the cost of the delivery.
Description of Goods, Warranty and Liability
DVD Shop Online warrant that any product sold by us will, at the time of delivery, meet the manufacturers latest specification of the goods listed by product title on the website, due to the technical nature of the products we sell, specifications can change rapidly and are always subject to change without notice from the manufacturer. This is especially the case with, but in no way limited to, Lead-In Info on optical media products. Any text or images other than the product title are for illustrative purposes only.
While every effort is made to ensure that this information, and all other product information and specifications, is upto date and correct, it is often not practical or possible to publish correct specifications and the most up to date imagery. For the latest product specifications you should contact the relevant manufacturer.
Except where the Customer is dealing as a consumer (as defined in the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977, section 12) all other warranties, conditions or terms relating to fitness for purpose, merchantability or conditions of the goods whether implied by Statute, Common Law or otherwise are excluded and the Customer warrants that the Customer is satisfied as to the Suitability of the Goods for the Customer's purpose.
Trails and Evaluations
Goods are not sold on a trial or evaluation basis.
Law
Any contract between the customer and DVD Shop Online will be governed by English law. Any claims made against DVD Shop Online within the small claims court system must be filed in a Merseyside court.
